Important notice regarding trasport to Cerveteri on day-2

We are sorry to inform ROMe2019 participants that the regional railway Rome-Civitavecchia is interrupted from 30th october to 2nd november due to rail works, therefore regional trains are stopping in Maccarese-Fregene station and we cannot manage a free transfer to the arena anymore, as initially planned.

Still, we have ensured a direct shuttle service from Maccarese train station straight to the arena, at a reasonable cost of 6€ round trip, which can be paid upon arrival at the registration desk on friday (if you are not running on day-1 then you can get your ticket when boarding directly at Maccarese station). Cost of the train ticket from Rome to Maccarese is 2.60€ one way. Departures from Termini station to Maccarese at: 7.12 – 7.27 – 8.12 – 8.42 – 9.12 – 9.42 – 10.12 – 10.42. Please allow at least 1h15′ for the whole transfer from Termini station to the arena.

An alternative route is via Cotral’s regional bus line, which is cheaper (3,40€ one way if pre-paid, 7€ on board) but that will need you to allow at least 2hrs for the whole transfer from Termini station (first get to Cornelia Metro A station and regional bus terminus, after reaching Cerveteri you’ll have to walk for 2km-ish to get to the arena).

Have a look at the whereabouts page for more info: https://romeorienteering.it/whereabouts/.

You are kindly invited to inform us if you are planning to use our buses so that we can deliver a better service: write an email to transport@romeorienteering.it specifying your name and number of tickets to be reserved.

Second entry deadline postponed

Breaking news! ROMe2019’s second entry deadline is postponed to monday 10th september: you still have two weeks to register to the 3-day event for 55€ (M/W 20-Elite-B-35-…-75), 35€ (Open short/long) or 25€ (M/W 12-14-16-18 and Beginners).

Ready for ROMe2019?

We are finally online and ready for a new edition of Rome Orienteering Meeting which brings along quite a few exciting news!

The 3-day orienteering event in the Eternal City is taking place on 1st-2nd-3rd november 2019 and the opening stage is a welcome return to ROMe’s inaugural edition: Tor Tre Teste park hosted the first stage back in 2010! Plus, the organisers are going to reintroduce the same format as in ROMe2013’s Villa Borghese stage: a mass start race, taking place in the afternoon, gradually turning into a night event (both Elite classes will start after dusk). So… make sure to get your headlamp checked and charged!

What do we have in mind for the second stage? Only the reason why you cannot miss ROMe2019! Cerveteri-Banditaccia’s Unesco site is the unique arena for the second stage, courses will pass through the world-reknown Etruscan necropolis, among tumuls tombs and along the Street of the Underworld (via degli Inferi). A shuttle bus service from/to the nearest train station of Marina di Cerveteri will be provided.

Sunday’s race in Rome’s City Centre is included in City Race Euro Tour‘s calendar as the 7th stage. Pincio terrace, Villa Borghese and the picturesque Baroque area of the City will definitely leave a mark in your memories.

So, are you ready for ROMe2019? Entries are already open on OriEnS, we’re just waiting for you!
